When we often think about our clients moving to be closer to family or friends, we picture cross-country relocations. But after reviewing our business last year, we discovered that many clients who want to be near their loved ones aren’t actually moving out of state—they’re simply moving to a different part of the city or a nearby suburb here in the Twin Cities.

What we learned is that proximity matters! Whether going to the gym or running a quick errand at Target, if you have to drive more than 15 minutes, chances are you just won’t go. Although many of us can now work from anywhere, the everyday moments—meeting up for a walk, watching a game together, or popping by for a weeknight dinner—genuinely connect us.
